about blue sky nine:

Thanks for checking us out. We’re blue sky nine. Well, we were, anyway.

We’re sort of retired, after a great 7 years of running around the U.S., as well as touring in Albania, Macedonia, Israel, Egypt, Mongolia, South Korea, and Romania.

If you ever saw us, you’ll know that our whole deal about creating music and telling stories was because our lives have been completely changed by our relationships with Jesus Christ. All of our time on the road was a way to share that through our art.

If you want to know more about that, you can get more info by checking out Every Student.COM. There are GREAT resources there for spiritual questions.

Anyway, for entertainment’s sake, we’ll leave the FAQ up for while. At least until the rent runs out on the web site…

FAQ:

Q: I saw you guys play and I’m amazed at how big you sound for being an ‘acoustic’ band!
A: That wasn’t really a question, but, you know, thanks!!

Q: What’s that thing Adam is sitting on?
A: His butt.

Q: Um, no… the thing he’s playing like a drum…?
A: Oh, that. It’s called a ‘Cajon’, and it’s part of his mad array of percussion stuff that makes us sound so big without a conventional drum kit.

Q: You guys told a story or two that involved God and spirituality – how does that tie in?
A: We believe life is a journey, and that journey has a spiritual dynamic. Our lives have been changed in meaningful ways because of that dynamic, and it influences our storytelling and songwriting. One of the things we love to do is hear people’s stories, to see where they are on their journey – and this opens the door to some pretty cool conversations.

Q: What does ‘blue sky nine’ mean?
A: It means you are looking too hard for symbolism.

Q: Why are you called blue sky nine when there are only 5 of you?
A: Really? That’s it. We’re out of here.
