We’ll be hitting colleges in Arizona and Colorado in August and September. We’ll do some prisons in September as well, and we’ll play Ft. Knox again early in October.

Then, for the rest of October, we’ll go on tour in Romania! We’re pretty excited about that. We’ll hit 5 or 6 cities (details are still coming together…)

Just as soon as we can nail down details, we’ll get dates on the ‘Tour Calendar’ page, and we’ll get FaceBook events created for all the shows. And if you have friends in Romania, or adjoining countries, let them know we’re coming!

The fall touring calendar is coming together – at the moment, it looks like we’ll be out west (Colorado, Arizona, etc.) for a while and then in Romania (no kidding!) for most of October.

For now, we’re taking some time to work on other projects. But, we’ll be playing a local show here on the north side of Indy for an event where there will be a tons of our friends and fans, as well as a bunch of college students doing a music and communication internship over the summer (that we work with). We love playing for them, and can’t wait to get back together!

We’ll get details for that stuff on here as soon as it solidifies.

Stay tuned!

Most of our touring this Spring has been shows on college campuses.

But… this last weekend, we played for the Aruna 5K event in Cincinnati. We were there to help make the event a bigger deal, but we were really excited about what it’s about. The Aruna Project is an organzation that rescues young girls (some as young as 10 years old) from the sex trafficking industry in Mumbai, India. check out the event website for more details.

The event raised $14,000 towards helping girls find their freedom. We loved that we got to be part of it.

From there, we headed to Ft. Knox in Kentucky and played for about 650 soldiers in basic training there. We had a blast playing music and sharing stories with them – and many of them made significant decisions about their relationships with God as well. It was a complete privilege to go and serve these guys who will be shipping out all over the world to serve us.

Hooaah! Check the photos page for a couple of new shots.

This week, we’re off to play a prison in in Indianapolis on Wednesday, and then down to a prison in Birmingham, AL this weekend. And then, another prison in Arkansas as well as some colleges as we finish up this spring’s touring.
Stay tuned…

We worked with our friends at Global Aid Network, a humanitarian aid organization, doing a benefit show called ‘Hope for Haiti’. We actually played there a few times for a bunch of folks who were volunteering at the facility processing donations, and we spent an afternoon helping process donations as well.

We had a great time, and are already hoping next spring’s tours take us back out that way!!

We’re in the northeast on tour and have played gigs in colleges in Massachussets, New Hampshire and have a few more shows here in Pennsylvania before we head home. Quick shout out to the folks in Lancaster who caught the show tonight – we had a great time!

So anyway, over the weekend, Dan took us to his old stomping grounds in the Kensington area of Philly, and we got to see where he grew up. Then we headed to 9th and Wharton, to the home of both Pat’s and Geno’s. The line for both extended well into the street, making us human traffic cones while we waited to get our sandwiches.

I suppose it’s ike Pepsi vs. Coke, or In-N-Out vs. Five Guys for burgers, or whatever. But we all grabbed lunch from Pat’s, because that’s where Dan always goes. And they were pretty good.

Sorry, Geno. Maybe we’ll catch you next tour.

Last week, we played at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. The day before the show, we got a tweet from someone saying that he’d try and catch us. I looked for him while we were playing, but never saw him.

I could tell from his Twitter ID that he was connected somehow to the Wind Energy Studies program at the college. They have their own huge wind turbine; it’s a cool program. (btw, that picture is from a wind farm in Kansas, not Estherville). One of the students told us that their one windmill provides the power for 1/3rd of the entire town. Granted, the town is only about 7000 people, but still.

Anyway, so we’re driving to the next gig elsewhere in Iowa when Shawna noticed something stuck in the windshield wiper of our van. It was a hand-written note from the same guy who tweeted us. He’d caught part of the show but had to leave early – so he left a note on our van, along with some cash for gas!

Cool. I love it when life illustrates that there’s really not much distinction between ‘online’ and ‘real’ community. There is just ‘community’, and it can take place online, or not.

But here’s what makes me laugh… we almost didn’t get his note and gift. One more swipe of the wipers and it would have been…

(wait for it…)

…gone with the wind. <grin>
