In our stewardship blog over the last few months we’ve focused mainly on finances; how we’re using our money to honor God.
Well, a few weeks ago I picked up The Generosity Factor by Ken Blanchard and S. Truett Cathy. In just the first few chapters I was reminded that generosity isn’t just about our money. The book unpacks what it means to be generous in every area of our life.
Five Key Points of The Generosity Factor
- He [God] Owns It All
- Every Day is an Opportunity
- Action is Required
- Remember Your Blessings
- Thank Him [God]
As I read, I found myself thinking about my own life and how often I am reluctant to be generous, especially with my “leisure” time. It’s made me realize that being generous with my finances isn’t enough. God gives everything to us in order for us to be givers…of everything!
Your comments in the past few weeks have been both encouraging and convicting. Thanks for joining the discussion! While this is our last official “stewardship challenge” post, we still want to hear from you in the weeks to come about your own journey.
This week’s giveaway is an NIV Stewardship Study Bible. It’s filled with great resources about being good stewards of every aspect of our lives. Congratulations to our winners these last two weeks – Cathy Howie & Matt Bryant.

God is teaching me to be rich towards God.
He is so rich to us. I visited a spice shop near my house and was floored to see the variety and abundance of spices available – for our joy.
Why didn’t God keep it simple at just salt and pepper? Why did he pour fenugreek, fennel, mustard, mace, cinnamon, cassia, cloves, saffron, turmeric, galangal and much, much more into the mix?
How can we be rich towards God as God is rich to us?
Cool so how do I pick up my prize? I didn’t even know I won?!?! Wow…..fun times…..that makes my Friday alright!! Woohooo!!!! God Bless and let me know how to pick my prize….
Hey, Matt. We’ll mail your prize to you. I’ll email you to confirm your mailing address. thanks for joining in the discussion.
thanks for commenting, Hillary. It is pretty amazing to think about the abundance of “good things” God gives us. While He doesn’t always give us what we want, but always what we need, He does allow us to enjoy incredible blessings. may He bless you as continue to seek being Rich towards Him. Check out Sowing Seeds of Generosity for another great resource on being rich towards God.
Our Pastor just finished a two part stewardship series and I’m anxious to see what God is going to do in our church through the truth of His Word. God continues to teach me about being more generous with the gifts he has given to me!!!
That’s understandable that money makes us free. But what to do if somebody does not have cash? The one way is to receive the personal loans or just student loan.
