God’s Perfect Timing

March 30, 2010

After two and a half years of praying, God said, “Yes!”  Apparently, selling the two Keynote buses (well used for many years to transport our outreach teams around the country) proved to be much more than a simple transaction of trading resources. It was faith-stretching, refining, and taught us to be persistent in prayer and not lose heart.

For a variety of reasons, Keynote decided to sell the buses and we continued over the last two years or so to ask for His plan and His buyer(s) for these two ministry vehicles.

Earlier this month, God provided the second of the two buyers and the sale of the final bus was complete. Guess what? Both buyers are also involved in ministry! It’s just like God to wait for just the right time and just the right “transaction.”

We took time at a recent staff meeting to celebrate God…for the ministry that took place during our time of owning those buses and for the provision for buyers who will carry on the ministry focus! One of our staff members even made a bus cake (complete with a loose tire!) to help with the celebration.

While there are many fond memories and many changed-life stories connected with these two buses, the lessons learned about waiting on God and persevering in prayer have truly made an impact! Good lessons for all of God’s people throughout the ages. We’ll never out wait God! He’s still waiting for the wrapping up of His promises.

We’re in the midst of Holy Week where we ponder Christ’s sacrifice for us and the glory of the resurrection! Easter also reminds us that one day He will return! Until then, let’s join hands to tell the world about His love and forgiveness!

Question: Have you grown weary in prayer over a particular need? How have you seen perseverance in prayer rewarded?
