[Comment on today’s blog post for a chance to win Tim Down’s new book, Wonders Never Cease. Drawing from all comments will take place on Monday, May 10.]

Tim Downs, gifted communicator and author, has been a staff member of Campus Crusade for Christ for more than 30 years. A few years ago, he and his wife, Joy, began working with Keynote. Creative communication is one of our passions and Tim has been a valuable asset as we seek to train others in the art of effective communication.

Recently, Tim joined other communicators in Westfield, Indiana for the Comm Lab where they helped train a couple dozen Campus Crusade for Christ speakers in creative communication. Through classes and individualized input these speakers were able to hone their skills to more effectively communicate the gospel.

In 1999, Tim wrote Finding Common Ground, which soon became a textbook for Campus Crusade staff and other believers as we began to wrestle with communicating the gospel to a post modern world. The common ground we once had (even that God exists) is more like shifting sand. If people are to grasp the gospel, we must first find a way to relate to what they know and believe.

Several years ago, Tim began writing fiction as a way to find common ground. His latest release, Wonders Never Cease, will officially be released on May 11, but copies are available for purchase online now.

“The goal of my writing is to use the power of story to reach across into the secular world. I write what I call “sower’s fiction”—stories that anyone can enjoy reading just for entertainment, but that contain some subtle element of Christian worldview. I wrote Wonders as a satire of spiritual bestsellers like The Secret, and [I think you] will especially appreciate the humorous commentary on the gullible times we live in. Enjoy the book yourself, but when you’re finished be sure to pass it on to your unbelieving family and friends–because I wrote it for them!” – Tim Downs

As believers, we are not only called to make God known, but also to be a part of creating and shaping culture. Tim Downs is doing just that with his writing. To learn more about Tim, his passions and his writing, visit his website or check out his blog.

Question: What Tim Downs books have you read? What other authors have you read who sprinkle a Christian Worldview in their writing for a secular audience?
