Friday Flashback

March 18, 2011

[In 2011 Keynote celebrates 45 years of ministry. We thought we would use our Friday posts to look back on God’s faithfulness through the years.]

Last week we talked about a number of bands that were formed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 1968 The Forerunners took their folk-music sound to seven countries in Europe, helping to start new Campus Crusade for Christ ministries on various university campuses.

Their ministry included concerts at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France. The Forerunners later performed in concert at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany and to capacity crowds at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

After hundreds of concerts before thousands of students in eight years of ministry, The Forerunners are credited with helping launch Campus Crusade works on all the major campuses of the 12 countries they toured, including Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Great Britain.
