blackSoil project in Australia

August 9, 2011

[Today, we’re posting a ministry update from Michael & Lisa Porter about Michael’s recent trip to Australia with the blackSoil project.]

“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I’m fairly certain that even if I could include 1000 photos in this update, it still wouldn’t give an accurate representation of how Gods goodness totally permeated [my June] trip to Australia!

I was blessed to work once again with CRAM (the Creative Arts Ministry of Australia), who has proven to be extremely effective at reaching high school students in Sydney and other parts of New South Wales! I absolutely LOVE those guys, and it is so obvious that the Father is doing something very cool with that group!

  • Check out some of the response we got:
  • Emotional…interesting…gave me an insight on life
  • Gave me a new perspective on life
  • I’m a musician; I’ve never seen such good talent
  • I felt God in my heart
  • I had a moment with God tonight
  • I’m not really sure what to believe in I’m starting to find interest in God
  • All the music and stories said tonight have made me think about what I really want
  • It was kind of awkward because usually when these happen I’m uninterested but somehow I am
  • The stories and songs made me see how much difference faith can make
  • Thanks for opening my eyes up to taking the step to change your life
  • Everything Rahlo said spoke to me and meant something
  • You’ve inspired me to listen to God and the amazing plan he has for my life
  • Awesome, should have more speeches like this! Thank you, I feel clean and forgiven
  • The group was epic and amazing. It inspired me even more to believe in God
  • From a teacher: Loved the fresh approach. So many bands come and play music but don’t take the opportunity to really share a message…great stuff.
  • Exciting new way to look at Jesus
  • Tonight was really meaningful hearing about somebody else’s experience
  • Really value what you had to say
  • This night reminded me I have a lot of things I need to change

As always, Lisa and I are forever grateful for your generous prayers […] and love working with you as together we help young people to escape the reality of living life upside down!

Love always,

Michael & Lisa Porter
