Friday Flashback – Short-Term International

November 4, 2011

[In 2011 Keynote celebrates 45 years of ministry. We thought we would use our Friday posts to look back on God’s faithfulness through the years.]

In 1999, Keynote launched a STINT (Short Term International) program alongside the Campus Ministry. College students were challenged to consider giving a year of their life (either during college or after completion) to serve with a Campus Crusade ministry overseas.

The first STINT team with Keynote was a rock band called 220. The band was based in Poland and served Campus Ministry teams in Eastern Europe as well as other ministries in the area. While the team consisted mostly of interns, Keynote provided staff members to give leadership and fill some needed performing roles.
Campus Crusade staff members in Poland also provided resources for booking concerts, providing transportation, equipment and more.

220 Performs “Dream On”

220 returned to Poland in 2000 with a smaller team and a few different faces. The groundwork laid in the first year paved the way for more exciting and strategic ministry in 2000. Some of the connections made during those two years of ministry opened doors for continued partnerships for Keynote in recent years.

Keynote continues to invite college students or recent college graduates to join us for a year as an intern in various capacities stateside. Our current staff team includes two interns and seven full-time staff members who were introduced to Keynote’s ministry through the STINT/Intern program.
