Effective, Christ-centered Communication

May 3, 2012

Comm LabEasing into the barber’s chair, Robert began to catch up with Michelle. He’s been Michelle’s client for a year and they typically talk about life and faith. Today however, since he was attending Keynote’s Comm Lab, Robert was in a new frame of mind, purposefully listening to her heart instead of sharing the religious information he knew.

While they talked, Michelle expressed her desire to make sure she had a relationship with “the God who was blessing her life and business.” As they spoke, Robert experienced the results of selfless conversation. God created a moment for Robert and Michelle to pray and she began a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that day.

“Everything I learned at Comm Lab was great, especially the principle of ‘dying to yourself so others can hear God’s message through you.’ That helped me get past myself and hear where she was spiritually and what her heart wanted.”

-Robert Hornberger Jr.

Moments like this are one of the many reasons we’re excited about Keynote’s Comm Lab and the difference it’s making in reaching the lost for Christ. The immediate impact is amazing, but we are especially excited for the future impact through the 70 leaders who attended our training this spring.

In the Windy City for example, mission worker Hung Lu is already applying skills from Comm Lab to his evangelistic and discipleship ministries. Improving his physical and verbal communication skills empowers Hung to better reach out to 180,000 college students on 44 Chicago Metro campuses.

“The Comm Lab was amazing. I want to send my whole team next year because the concepts are applicable to all roles of ministry,”

-Hung Lu

God has entrusted Keynote with a unique privilege: The development of excellent, Christ-centered communicators. We believe that inside each Christ-follower lives the greatest story ever told. But sometimes fear, pride, or poor communication habits hinder us from clearly sharing God’s message. The heart behind Comm Lab is to help speakers free themselves from hindrances so the world can receive Christ’s message of hope, redemption, and love.
