Compelled to Listen

August 29, 2012

Young IsaacThe Keynote Summer Project and the Impact Summer Mission have just wrapped up! God transformed the hearts and lives of the students who participated, causing them to grow in their art and in their love of Jesus. As the student bands, short film team, and theatre company shared the gospel across the country this summer, God changed many lives.

From the beginning of their tour, student band Young Isaac saw God move in incredible ways:

“Our first concert was in Pennsylvania. This concert was the first in a series of events that Sunbury City Church hosted to draw more people to their church plant. A husband and wife happened to pass by the park and heard us play. This couple did not attend SCC and were not Christians. The wife told her husband that he had to stop; she felt compelled by something telling her to listen to our playing. While Logan (our lead male vocalist) was sharing his story and gospel, she began crying. At the end of the night, she accepted Jesus Christ! In tears, she told someone from the church that she wanted to tell about God’s salvation to her son, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has only two weeks to live.”

Join us in praising Jesus for the life He transformed that night! Like the woman at the well who experienced the forgiveness Jesus gives, this new believer was eager to tell someone else the good news. We pray that her son will spend eternity in Christ’s presence.

This is just one story from the thousands of individuals who heard the gospel this summer. From prison inmates in Florida to vacationers in Wisconsin to juvenile offenders in Indiana…each one of the 362 people who said yes to Jesus have begun a journey of hope. Praise God for the many lives changed this summer!
