Out of gratitude for God’s work in my life I felt a need to give back. I was praying for an opportunity to use my years of experience in filmmaking to do something valuable for the larger body of Christ. My answer came through an exciting invitation to work on a short film project with Keynote’s Creative Communications Group.
As I spent time on the phone coaching Keynote staff member John Gaither on the responsibilities of being a film director it was fun to hear his hunger to learn and grow. But what surprised me was that we became friends. Our conversations began to encompass film and faith. Here I was, a believer ready and willing to share my experience in production, but also eager to grow in my faith. We were now mentoring each other. It felt rewarding to give and receive.
From my experience, the staff at Keynote care about each person involved in the creative process as much as the end product. I’m thankful that God brought me this opportunity to team up with Keynote and I’d do it again in a heart beat.
