FAQs

(Q) Do individual staff members get compensation from any money Keynote gets from doing a concert?

(A) No. Individual Keynote staff members do not receive any compensation—it all goes to the ministry of Keynote.

It takes a lot to run a ministry. Upkeep on our vehicles and facilities alone costs a ton. But staff can reimburse all of the expenses they incur on the road from their personal staff accounts. Keynote pays for fuel, hotels, and housing, but staff members can reimburse snacks and meals while on the road.

(Q) If I’m accepted in a full-time touring band, what percentage of the time will I be traveling while on staff?

(A) It depends on what kind of band you’re in, whether you’re doing local concerts and how many concerts your booking agent books for your band.

Typically, bands don’t travel for more than 3 weeks at a time or more than 6 months out of the year. In addition to touring, each band is responsible for developing ministry and outreach opportunities via the internet.

(Q) What outreach opportunities exist outside of the bands?

(A) We’re creating short films, developing internet content and equipping overseas ministries with training and resources. We’re praying for the results to be global impact and changed lives. There are many opportunities to reach people for Christ. To find out more, check out the available positions on this site.

(Q) Will I be given a specific Keynote placement once I’m at New Staff Training? When does placement begin?

(A) During New Staff Training, you’ll take seminary classes and learn how to raise full-time financial support. This is a great time to meet new Campus Crusade staff members from all over the country. New staff training is held in Florida (although, every other summer, it is also held in Colorado).

You will then be sent off to raise your full-time financial support. We call this process Ministry Partner Development (MPD). Once you’ve reached your initial support goal, you’ll be given clearance to report to Keynote. You’ll receive your first full time placement at that time.
