Music Track
Audition & Application Process
Please follow ALL of the music track application/audition instructions thoroughly.
Step 1.
Record a video
(Note: sound techs may substitute an audio file for a video.)
Please prepare a video file that will be uploaded to this website. (Your file will not be posted publicly, unlike most Youtube videos.)
- We need to know who you are. On your video state your name before you perform.
- Several staff will be evaluating your video. We are not American Idol judges. You don’t have to do anything crazy to impress us. If you follow our instructions we will notice you.
- Quality matters. Make sure to watch and listen to your clip after recording it. If you have trouble hearing or seeing it, we will likely have the same problem. If we are unable to see or hear you adequately, you may be asked to submit a hard copy of your audition on DVD or VHS.
- Show us your best. We want to hear an example of your singing or playing with as few mistakes as possible. It’s a good idea to practice before recording your video. Prepare in the same way as you would for a live audition.
Please watch the video below to get an idea of how to present your audition.
Step 2.
Submit your video
- Here is how to label your video: lastname_firstname_instrument
- i.e. smith_john_drums - If you have multiple videos to upload include a video number and the total number of videos in your label.
- i.e. smith_john_drums_1_of_2 - If you are trying out on several instruments, please make separate videos for each.
