Another w[rec]k Story

February 8, 2011

w[rec]k, the short film written and directed by the students of the 2008 Keynote Summer Project Film Track (AKA “The Film Kids”) continues to have an effect. You can read an earlier story about the film here.

A professional actor who follows Jesus happened to see prayer requests for Keynote staff member, Denise DiSarro, at his church in Connecticut.  Included was a mention that Keynote is involved in making short films. The actor contacted Denise about his interest in being involved in one of our shoots. Denise put him touch with John Gaither, who gives leadership to Keynote’s Short Film initiative. The actor sent the following in an email to John:

“I watched W[rec]k on your webpage.  Interesting concept.  Some very good shots in there.  I like the use of symbolism, and it caught me by surprise.  The surprise is what gave it impact.  In fact, I’m sitting beside a co-worker (born and raised Jewish), and we watched it together.  He said, “I’m not really sure I get it.  What did you get out of that?”  I just got to share the basics of the gospel of Jesus Christ in an organic, open way.  Thank you.” – Brad

This is exactly what we hope for when we make a short film…a conversation that leads to Jesus!
