Friday Flashback

June 10, 2011

[In 2011 Keynote celebrates 45 years of ministry. We thought we would use our Friday posts to look back on God’s faithfulness through the years.]

Ah, the music of the ’70s. You may love it or you may hate it. For those of us who lived through the ’70s, the music always brings back memories. Perhaps some of these tunes from the Music Ministry/Keynote archives will bring back some memories for you.

We have quite a collection of albums (those are the big vinyl records that play music, for those of you under 30) from the ’70s, ’80s and even some early ’90s.

Today’s selections include a couple of tunes from Dana (Howard) Russo’s first album. Read more about one of Dana’s many international trips here.

He’s Gonna Make Your Dreams Come

Also included are a couple of songs from The Great Commission Company and Spirit of Joy. You can find out more about these groups here and here.

In 1976 Campus Crusade initiated a campaign called “I Found It,” and The Music Ministry/Keynote was instrumental in helping to spread the word about the evangelism campaign through concerts. An album entitled “Here’s Life, I Found It” was recorded and distributed as well.

I remember having an “I Found It” bumper sticker on my car in high school. Apparently, the campaign was successful in gaining media attention, so much so that an “I Found It” campaigner is shown in the 1980 movie Airplane!
