In 1984, a praise and worship session featuring Ron Jenson, Dr. Bright and several Music Ministry/Keynote staff members was recorded for the purpose of providing a praise and worship vehicle for Campus Crusade staff serving overseas. A limited run of 2,500 were initially produced, but the product exploded in popularity. Over 100,000 copies were eventually produced and sold.
This first praise and worship recording marked the beginning of RPI, a for-profit subsidiary of Campus Crusade for Christ. This first cassette (yes, this was the dark ages) launched a series of seven volumes which inspired spin-offs like Praise & Worship Easter, Christmas, Guitar, Piano and others.
