As one of the nation’s premiere ventriloquists, David Pendleton will make you believe anything can talk. A 20-year veteran entertainer, David’s humor and stellar technique keeps audiences laughing from start to finish.
David brings to his show a wide range of comedic characters including lovable but blunt Aunt Tilly, a 94-year-old spinster, quick-witted trouble-maker, Mack Elroy with his laid-back sidekick, Buford the Beagle, and, rounding out the cast, Vern, a slightly misguided albino vulture. Throughout all his high-energy entertainment, David mixes in humorous truths of God’s plan for our lives.
In 2001, David brought his talents and heart for ministry to Keynote after serving for more than 14 years with the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade. Performing for a variety of audiences including military personnel, executives, college students and prisoners, David uniquely presents the gospel (below) using Aunt Tilly as an illustration.
In recent years, David has focused much of his outreach ministry with the Bill Glass prison ministry seeing thousands of prisoners respond to the gospel message.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, join us in taking a moment to reflect on all that God has done in our lives. Perhaps you can even add a new tradition this year around the table: have each person share something they are thankful for. It just might open the door for some great spiritual conversations.

In 2000, Keynote staff members combined with Campus Crusade staff members from Switzerland to form a short-term pop alternative band called All Too Real. In a four-month span from February to May, this group conducted a barnstorming tour of the U.S. that included two separate trips to the West Coast.
In the fall of 2000, two new bands were launched to work specifically with the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade: X-nelo and WhaleDays. X-nelo, a guitar-driven modern rock band performed covers from bands such as Pearl Jam, U2 and Matchbox 20. The band served campuses across the U.S. by providing evangelistic concerts as well as crowd-generating events to provide contacts for future ministry. [click to continue…]
Stories are powerful. They inspire us. They make us cry. They move us to action.
“I Am Second” is harnessing the power of storytelling to redeem lives by giving hope to the lonely and hurting, help from destructive lifestyles and inspiration to the unfulfilled. This movement of online short films, founded by Norm Miller, is impacting people across the nation with stories of life change. Each story ends with the idea that Jesus is first and I am second.
The Cru ministry at Purdue University invited Keynote to help produce their own versions of “I Am Second” (IA2) videos using Purdue students and faculty. In September, Keynote staff members Lindsay Smith, Stephen Haddenhorst and Andrew Corbitt went to Purdue for two long days of shooting. Lindsay walked each person through his or her story while processing how it would transfer to film. Stephen and Andrew handled the technical aspects of lighting and filming. The team captured 12 stories for use at www.iamsecondpurdue.com.
MinistryNet, a gathering of men and women committed to building spiritual movements using internet-based strategies to reach people with the gospel, recently held their biennial conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
In addition to participating in the conference, two of the five Keynote staff attendees were able to help build the a website to benefit Thai Campus Crusade staff members who lost most, if not all, of their belongings to a recent flood.
Many of these staff members were involved in relief efforts to others in their community during the days leading up to the conference. Visit help.ministrynetconference.com to find out more about the flood and how you can get help to the helpers.
