Beyond the Walls – Partnership with CEF

September 13, 2011

Another day of “life as usual,” without hope … behind bars.

Thousands of inmates face these thoughts every day. At Keynote, we love partnering with ministries who have a presence in prisons around the country. Together we bring music, comedy and hope into the lives of men and women who find themselves behind bars because of choices they have made.

Some of these men and women embrace the hope found in a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Through a recent partnership with Child Evangelism Fellowship, we can offer the inmates an opportunity to register their children in a Bible study correspondence program.

Earlier this month, we received a note from one of the CEF coordinators with an update on the program:

“We have been doing some reports and I am pleased to make the following report to you.  Since your traveling groups began distributing our materials last February, we have seen a total of 203 prisoners enroll and 402 referrals (children and family members).  The interesting thing is that there was steady but small number coming in each month until last month (July).  In that month 135 prisoners enrolled and 298 referrals.  That’s 66% of the total prisoners and 74% of the total referrals came in last month.  This may be just because of the summer tours, but thank you, and keep up the good work.  I hope you can pass this information along to encourage your teams.” - Cindy Walsh, Child Evangelism Fellowship

We don’t always know how many people take advantage of this great program, but we love to provide resources that can reach beyond the walls of the prisons.
